We’ve had another lovely week of learning in our Grayling 2 classroom. We hope you enjoy these little snippets from what we’ve been doing!

Literacy

In literacy, the children have been enjoying our new text related to our Topic work on Kenya, Lila and the Secret of the Rain. We have been continuing our learning about nouns and adjectives to write our own sentences to describe images from the book. The children have also enjoyed story mapping the text so that they are able to retell the story independently next week.

Here is a link for you to enjoy together at home:

Maths

In maths, we have started our new learning on addition. The children have been using Dienes to support them to add together two numbers in class and we will be moving onto column addition shortly.

Topic

In Topic this week, we have been looking at human and physical features to compare the United Kingdom and Kenya. We really enjoyed making a collage of both of these countries, using cardboard and other materials to add human and physical features.

P.E.

This half term in P.E. we have been focusing on gymnastics. The children have loved learning different balances such as the pike, the straddle and the star and putting these into a sequence with a partner. I wonder how many different balances your child can show you at home?

Have a lovely weekend Grayling 2 and well done for another fantastic week!
